The Canadian Maple Leaf is one of the oldest and best known bullion coins in the world. The Royal Canadian Mint has struck it since 1979, and at 999.9 fineness since 1982 — the first mass-market gold coin to reach that purity.
The reverse carries a single sugar maple leaf; the obverse the profile of the British monarch — King Charles III on recent years, Queen Elizabeth II on older ones. The coin is legal tender in Canada.
Recent years add two security features: radial lines machined across the whole field, and a laser-engraved micro maple leaf containing the year. The gold is soft and uncoated, so leave the coin in its capsule. A scratch takes nothing off the gold content, but it spoils the look.
Weights and premium
We stock 1/10, 1/4, 1/2 and 1 oz. Rule of thumb: a larger weight means a lower premium per gram. Smaller coins cost more per gram but let you sell a smaller piece at a time.
Coins come in mint packaging — in a capsule, a sleeve, or the protective film from the tube. Condition is Bank Standard. Buying: the price is fixed the moment you order, against the live world market, and you then collect in Tallinn or we send it by insured courier.
